A good movie can change the world (well not really)

The Perfect Score 79%

The movie was funny at times and very interesting. However the movie was not very unique. A couple planning to steal something using their "perfect plan" is not really original. The movie was kind of lame but worth seeing at the cheap theaters.

LOTR: The Return of the King 96%

This movie rocks. I dont care if you hated the other two this still might appeal to you. More action, adventure and overall sweetness in this film than ten other movies combined.

Stuck on You 78%

The movie had its hilarious parts. However the movie had a lot of boring and unnecessary parts to. If your looking for a cheap laugh you can check out this show.

Cheaper by the Dozen 90%

The movie was as funny as could be and never stopped with the humor. This movie is worth checking out.

The Last Samurai 86%

I tend to almost always favor a comedy but I have to say that this action was intense. There were a lot of cool fight scenes. It reminded me of a Jackie Chan film except for two things: The main character wasnt a cop and there was not a lot of humor.

School of Rock 88%

Jack Black was awesome! I think that if you want to be treated to belly aching laughs then see this movie.

DVD: Here I will review a DVD. I will look at how good the actual movie was and how the special features were.

Bruce Almighty 94%

The movie itself is priceless. I like the concept and I like the acting. 11 out of 10 for Jim Carrey. Aside from the movie the special features were much better than I expected. There is half an hour of the funniest deleted scenes. There is also a few excellent behind the scene featurettes. If you are looking for something to buy get this.

I thought it would be fun if I had a guest critic on every month to review different things. Every month I will choose a different friend, family member or complete stranger (very unlikely) to review some stuff. So for March the guest critic is Keegan:

The Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King 97%

I though it was one of the greatest movies of all time. Though it was so long it was exciting throughout the entire movie. The detail and thought put into every scene was just amazing. One thing I didn't like was the Orc with the puffed wheat face.

American Idol 83%

I think its a pretty good show but I'm not to sure if I like their choice of themes for each week. I also think there are some people in the top 12 that should not be there but they are still fairly decent. Over all I would watch this show only if I didn't have any other important things could be doing.

Movie Reviews

Movies: For right now Im just giving short reviews of a few movies:

Along Came Polly 85%

A very entertaining flick that was not filled with the usual bunch of unneccesary scenes. The acting was very proffesional and interesting. I really enjoyed the jokes. If at all possible do not see the trailer to this movie. There were so many hilarious jokes that really were ruined by the trailer. The movie will be much more exciting if you come in without any knowledge.

50 First Dates 92%

Once again Adam Sandler works his magic. A funny, interesting, unique and fun movie to view. It was filmed in Hawaill and the scenery rocked. The stroy was very appealing too. I really enjoyed this movie and I would highly reccomend it to all Adam Sandler fans. One other thing I found was that it had much more story and less goofing around to it. So if you do not like Adam Sandlers usual oddball antics you could very well love this movie.

#1 Comedy in Canada!

Catch That Kid 81%

I know, I know! This review may seem way to gracious when you first glance at the title.  However as I watched it and I realized that it was really quite a quality production. I came in with a standard "Lame Kid Movie" expectation but came out impressed at the plot, setting, and yes even special effects. The story goest that a girl's father needs a surgery on his legs after a serious rock-climbing accident. She and her two friends get together and attempt to rob a bank (Yes. They actually do something not entirely wholesome in a kid movie.). The movie is pretty classic heist set-up. In fact I wanted to take this opportunity to mention that I hear the identical music when the group explains the plan in every single heist movie. Sure the movie was sometimes predictable and the acting may have been a little cheesy but still I liked the movie. If you don't see the movie (which I bet you won't) just check out the picture below of one of the actors. He looks exactly like Cuba Gooding Jr.

TV, Book and CD Reviews

The reviews page is now featuring Book, CD, and TV reviews. I will include one of each of tehse each month. Movie reviews will numero uno on priorities though. So here are the TV, CD, book and your usual movie reviews.

New to the site is some great new review areas. I will add a TV show review, a book review and a CD review every month.

March:

TV SHOW REVIEW: JOAN OF ARCADIA 84%

Well let me start by saying that I personally do not really like the title. Havign said that I actually learned to appreciate the show. It is a very novel concept. Every week God gives Joan a new task. Most of which are obtrusive or uncomfortable. At the end of every task Joan normally learns a very valuable lesson. I really like the idea, acting and plot. A great show to watch!

BOOK REVIEW: KEEPER OF THE ISIS LIGHT 80%

A sci-fi that focuses its moral directly on human acceptance and belonging. A girl lives on "Isis" (a planet) and is given the job of giving information about the planet and also give aid to passing spaceships. When a group of new settlers land she finds her world turned upside down. The book was interesting and had a good moral but I felt that there was a lot of unnecessay material. The story could have been summed up well in less pages. I suggest this as a read to any sci-fi fans.

CD REVIEW: BARENAKED LADIES: EVERYTHING TO EVERYONE %84

I like the CD in many ways. They are a funny band with tons of great talent. Their newest album was awesome. The hit song "Another Postcard" lived up to its reputation. The other songs were also of great value with unexpected hits like "Testing 1,2,3" It is a perfect CD to listen to in the car with a "sing-a-long" quality. If you like the band then this is a great buy. Otherwise maybe stay clear.

February:

TV SHOW REVIEW THE APPRENTICE 93%

Donald Trump stars as himself in this edgy new reality show. 16 contestants are selected to compete for a spot as a CEO to one of his companies. The people are split into two teams and given a new task every week. The tasks involve marketing skills of all varieties. The show delivers surprisingly fresh material with a creative side. This show is living proof that the reality TV show industry has not lost all hope at producing innovative concepts.

BOOK REVIEW PENDRAGON: THE NEVER WAR 95%

I tend to enjoy history-based fiction and this book was no exception. The Pendragon series stars Bobby Pendragon as a teenager whom is entrusted with the responsibility of a "traveler". Travelers are the good guys that stop Saint Dane from destroying the universe. This part in the series depicts gangster life in the Bronx during the 1930s. The setting was great. The characters were great. The plot was great and the ending was great. The book is tough to describe. T shows aspects of fantasy, science fiction, history, adventure, action, drama and many other genres.

CD REVIEW OUTKAST: THE LOVE BELOW & SPEAKERBOXX 74%

Okay so I dont like rap. But even so this CD was not very good. Every song was different which some people really like. However I found that just when you would get of feel of what they were going for it shifted dramatically. Just the way Alice in Wonderland does. The CD left me confused at what they were aiming for and caused me to think. Does this rap group get to much play? I admit the rating is harsh and if you tend to really enjoy rap you can probably raise this review by 10%. Also the CD is a two-disc set that includes a free movie ticket worth about $10. Also the CD is not very pricey. Put all this together and you get a sweet deal. That is if you like Outkast.
